SUBSEQUENT GROWTH OF THIS MISSION HOSPITAL

• In course of time, our outpatient and in-patient flow started increasing progressively and we were in need of advanced facilities and in-patient beds. In the year 1994, adjacent to the old building where we were providing outpatient and inpatient services, a new building (Vimala Chelladurai block) was constructed with ten in-patient rooms. The Jayaraj Nadar family was a generous benefactor to the construction of the new block.

• As the out-patient and in-patient number increased exponentially, the need for inpatient beds in 2004, a new in-patient block (D block) was built with 18 beds (12 General beds and 6 special rooms).

• The old building in which we were running our outpatient Department was at the verge of collapsing and beyond the scope of repair. Hence in the year 2006, we decided to demolish the old building and build a new Out-Patient Block. With the help of many generous people and God’s grace, the proposed Outpatient block (A block) was completed and dedicated by our Bishop Rt Rev Jeyapaul David in November 2007. The initial contribution for starting the construction work of the new outpatient block (A block) was generously donated by the Dubai Tamil Congregation church.

• On the ground floor of A Block, we are running our outpatient department, Laboratory and pharmacy. On the first floor, we have a few in-patient rooms, a General ward, a chapel, a three bedded ICU, and NICU with 4 beds.

• The hospital saw immense growth henceforth and faced a severe shortage of beds in the subsequent years. In order to overcome the bed crisis, in September 2013, our Bishop Rt. Rev. J JChristdoss and the Lay secretary MrGunasingh Chelladurai took the initiative, to build a new in-patient block (J block) with 14 air conditioned rooms. This building was dedicated by our Bishop Rt. Rev. J JChristdoss in the presence of Mr P H Pandian MP and MrsVijila Sathyanand, Mayor of Tirunelveli.

• The number of surgeries in our hospital increased over the years and we were unable to manage with a single operation theater. A new operation theater was built in the year 2015 under the leadership of Dr. Paul Robinson.

• Our hospital transformed into a tertiary care hospital with an increasing amount of severely ill patients. The 3 bedded ICU was not sufficient enough to manage the sick patients. In order to cater to the needs of critically ill people, a new ICU was built with 8 beds and a NICU with 10 beds above A block. The New Theater, NICU, and ICU were built in 2015 and were dedicated by our Bishop Rt. Rev. J JChristdoss.

• The total number of beds in our hospital was 50 in 2012. In the next few years, the hospital growth was tremendous in all aspects and our inpatient beds increased to 95 in 2015. Owing to the growth and tireless efforts of Dr. Paul Robinson (Medical Superintendent), our hospital was given the NABH preliminary accreditation in 2017.

• The tireless and dedicated efforts of Dr. Gladwin (medical superintendent) hospital got phase lift and served many patients

• In the year of 2018 hospital laboratory facilities were upgraded with an automatic biochemistry machine and immunoassay, also separate MRD unit and meeting hall for the hospital staff were constructed

The year of 2021 was a milestone year in our hospital history

• The adjunct diocesan office premises were ( 1 acre) handed over to the hospital for further expansion this happened because of the efforts of honorable justice Mr. Paul Vasantha Kumar, Justice jothimani and bishop commissary RT rev chandrasekar (Trichy diocesan), and all newly elected office bearers of Tirunelveli diocesan

• Mr. Melton Thanga jebakumar was appointed as a manager in the year 2021 May. He is a retired bank manager. He provides common guidance and direction to the individual efforts for quality management within the organization. He maintains good accountancy and fiscal health for hospital since from 2021. His contribution is remarkable towards hospital growth.

• The diocese office was blessed and dedicated by RT Rev.Chandrasekhar in the presence of Newly elected lay secretary Mr Jaya Singh, who donated a generous amount for the renovation of DO Block as Covid care centre.

• The old diocesan office building was renovated to 15 bedded Covid care centre with fully equipped to manage sick patients. He also blessed and dedicated the bicentenary Block 1st floor constructed into a hospital administration block and OPD room for consultants.

• The consecration of the Bishop RT Rev ARGST BARNABAS anointed at CSI Holy Trinity Cathedral on Sunday (November 21) at 2 p.m. He continued his ministerial focus on strengthening and building the hospitals and institutions. He actively engaged in healing ministries to develop and fond of in both mission hospital for the treatment of the sick and the needy people

• Newly consecrated Bishop Rt Rev. ARGST. Barnabas Aiyya Blessed and dedicated new laboratory, treatment room, new ultrasound upgraded in the OLD diocesan office building. He also blessed and dedicated 2 defibrillators,one mobile X-ray for ICU and Casualty.

• It's proposed to construct 2 new blocks in the old diocesan office, privileged 80 beds with 3 modular OT, CT/MRI/ cardiac CATH LAB with a new ICU and 20 bedded round-the-clock labour room with advanced technology

• We at CSI Jayaraj Annapackiam Mission hospital providing dedicated Paediatrics and Neonatology service for complete medical and surgical care to newborns and children under one roof in a child friendly environment by our MEDICAL SUPERINTENDENT DR.PAUL ROBINSON. We use the evidence based approach and latest technology for patient care. Our hospital offers a wide range of high quality health care services in the age group of 0-18 years. It includes Newborn care and Paediatric and adolescent care.

• Our hospital provides Maternity Services Labour and delivery always brings with it anxious moments for the mother-to-be and her family members. • DR.ARUL PARTHSARATHY, MS ORTHO,FFS provides expert medical and surgical treatment for the spectrum of conditions, from minor injuries to complex trauma, hip, knee, spine, hand and bone surgeries. Our team consists of well qualified orthopaedic surgeon, trained in various specialties at renowned institutes and physiotherapists focused on providing individualized passionate care with utmost comfort to the patients in outpatient and inpatient settings. The teams started in growing with excellent services to polytrauma patients, Keyhole surgeries, Sports medicine and joint replacement. No surgical work is complete without efficient physiotherapy and rehabilitation.

• DR ASHWIN MS (GEN.SURGERY) is managing all kinds of General Surgeries in our hospital, provides all surgical works mainly related to diabetic wounds and we do both open and laparoscopic surgeries, he is well trained and qualified to do advanced hernia repair and cholecystectomy. he is well exposed to all kinds of complicated cases like emergency appendicectomy and all surgical works.

• • Nurses are the ones who form the backbone of our hospital ensuring that the requirements of the patients are rightly taken care of. It is the professionalism and the compassionate nature of the nurses that make them different from the other service providers in the healthcare.

• Nurses are of the utmost importance when it comes to hospital quality. They are the unsung heroes who take care of the patients day and night without being impatient. Our mission hospital team consists of most experienced senior charge nurses and lead by Nursing superintendent Mrs.Vanaja M.Sc(N), IDCCN.
